It is a great honour to have even been considered for such the Platinum prestigious award of the Berlin GOOA Awards and to be among the winners.

The Story
Can you share a bit of your company’s background and what inspired you to become an EVOO producer?
I came to Italy from Albania in 1999. I was 18 years old with no money and nowhere to live, but I had a lot of ambition and an interest in agriculture, particularly olive oil production. I quickly found work, and I worked for other people for the next 15 years, learning as much as possible from them.

In 2015, I set up my firm and bought my first olive grove, and from there, I never looked back. I started to produce my own extra virgin olive oil and buy more olive groves as I could afford to. In 2019, I started bottling my extra virgin olive oil under the brand “Olio Della Valle”, but I never stopped listening to experts in the field and learning how to improve the quality of my product.
I aim to produce the best quality product possible and expand my market abroad. I also plan to introduce a “Pomodoroso” oil, a top-quality extra Virgin oil with a hint of tomato flavour.
I grow and work my olive groves from A to Z of the production. There are three key things in producing high-quality olive oil: Perfect olives, a minimum time between picking and squeezing, and a clean, professional olive mill.
My olive trees are hundreds of years old and will be here for centuries. People have produced olive oil for centuries with little or no environmental impact. As for climate change, I don’t think it has affected this area of agriculture as much as some others, except perhaps that we pick a little earlier than we used to.
I love my work and olive trees, which translates into my desire to produce the best Extra Vergin Olive Oil possible.

Olio della valle received two (2) Platinum Awards at the 2024 Berlin GOOA – Global Olive Oil Awards.
