Olive oil is the great symbol of the celebrated Mediterranean diet. An authentic liquid gold, it encapsulates all the properties that enable a recognisably natural cuisine, in keeping with the need for a healthy lifestyle. Azeite Senhor de Murça is the fruit of a process that respects the ancestral traditions of olive oil production in the Trás-os-Montes region. The olives are only gathered when their maturity is in accordance with a specific flavour, resulting in a unique and striking product. Extracted by low-temperature pressing, the olive oil retains all of its phenols and fatty acids, which are fundamental to extra virgin olive oil, and has proven healthcare and quality-of-life benefits.
The Agricultural Cooperative of Olive Growers of Murça, C.R.L. (CAOM), founded in 1956, is located in a region with a long tradition in olive oil production, being part of the Protected Designation of Origin region known as “Azeite de Trás-os-Montes” (Olive Oil of Trás-os-Montes).
Throughout its history, it has been a pioneer in several agricultural practices that have allowed the production of high-quality olive oil, combining production techniques with processing technology, which have resulted in excellent results in the quality of the olive oil obtained.
