In one of the oldest Cretan olive groves, in the village of Kritsa, olives have long been harvested by the more than 1,200 members of the local producer cooperative with great care and passion. The oil-producing process is carried out with the system of common grinding and the use of the method of cold pressing directly after harvest to produce a unique olive oil of particularly low-acidity and rich in vitamins.
The Cooperative has a new modern olive oil factory with centrifugal machinery of 10.000 kg of olives per hour, which are housed in modern facilities of 1.900 m². Also, the storage capacity of the factory that includes stainless steel tanks (AISI 304), is 700 tones. Just after its production, the olive oil is headed to the stainless steel tanks, through stainless steel pipes. There, it is stored with the simultaneous addition of nitrogen gas.
The Cooperative has some of the most modern bottling facilities in Crete which have the ability of bottling several sizes and types of products such as metal cans, bottles, and bags in boxes.
