Kritsa extra virgin olive oil 0.3% comes exclusively from the olive fruit of the Koroneiki cultivar, grown in the area of Kritsa. Its qualitative, organoleptic, sensory and chemical properties make it one of the most renowned olive oils the Cretan soil has yielded.
Agricultural Cooperative of Kritsa was established in 1927, with its olive oil mill operating since 1937. Today, the cooperative brings together more than 890 members, all dedicated to producing high-quality olive oil with expertise and care.
The olive groves of Kritsa—among the oldest in Crete—are located on the hillsides extending from Mirabello Bay up to 700 metres in altitude. The region’s warm, dry, semi-mountainous climate, abundant sunshine, and ideal soil conditions create the perfect environment for olive cultivation.
The cooperative operates a modern olive mill equipped with Alfa Laval centrifugal machinery and stainless-steel storage tanks with a capacity of 700 tonnes. Annual production averages around 450,000 kilos of olive oil, consistently classified as high-quality extra virgin olive oil with acidity below 0.3%.
