Appreciation for man and nature has always been the basis of all economic activity for the Bläuel family. Fritz and Burgi Bläuel came to the Mani in the late 1970s in search of an alternative way of life.
The Story
They soon started building up an organic agriculture project together with the local olive farmers and oil-millers. With entrepreneurial vision, respect for people and for the cultural landscape of the Mani together with much effort and enthusiasm, they managed to effectively communicate to the farmers the benefits of organic agriculture and the associated market opportunities, gradually gaining their cooperation and support.
The same spirit leads the next generation of the Bläuel company: Felix and Julia Bläuel are now at the head of the company and are actively committed to developing their parents’ life work into modern ecological and sustainable strategies.
In 2014 Bläuel Greek Organic Products obtained Naturland Fair certification, which makes the long-term environmental and social commitment of the company transparent and measurable. Ethical business in harmony with man and nature has been the hallmark of the Bläuel family business for over 40 years.
The fruits of our labour are not in the form of award winning MANI organic extra virgin olive oils, organic olives and organic mezes but also in the preservation of Mani’s cultural landscape as the centre of traditional, organic olive cultivation in Greece.
The fine organic MANI olive oils, olives and mezes are carefully prepared from pure natural products using traditional methods. The ideal growing conditions of the Mani region in Greece are for olive oil what the “terroir” is for wine, resulting in a unique taste and quality typical of products from this area.
The olive tree symbolizes peace and prosperity. Greek olive tree culture can be seen in traditional olive cultivation. With delicate, artisanal processing this tradition finds its highest expression in Greek food culture, made of togetherness and joy. This same joy, appreciation and care go into all the MANI products and can be tasted in every bite.
The MANI brand offers a wide range of organic Greek specialities: extra virgin olive oils, olives and mezes, excellent ingredients which form the basis of authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
