Riano
Our 7500 olive trees extend in the municipality of Montecchio, in the province of Terni, in the southern part of Umbria. An area of 30 hectares, at an altitude between 300 and 600 metres above sea level, provide the fruit for an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality. The main cultivars of our olive groves are MORAIOLO (55%), FRANTOIO (30%) and LECCINO (15%). We harvest the olives in the months of October, November and December, by hand ‘brucatura’, which preserves the drupes from traumas, with mechanical shakers and electric shakers.
About Producer
First great-grandfather Domenico, then grandfather Riano, and now Giovanni and Alessandro, father and son, olive growers and oil millers. Four generations and only one place: the Montecchio hills, where the more than 7,500 olive trees are located. The processing is rooted in the Umbrian dedication to the land and the ability to reap its fruits, and is controlled at every stage of the chain. This is how the 4 types of Ricci oil are created. Each one different from the other but united by the same care and the ability to control the entire production chain, from the tree to the mill.
